The White House informed US federal agencies that they must delete the app from government devices within 30 days of Feb 27th. Additionally, other nations including Britain, France and New Zealand's Parliament; as well as the executive arm of the European Union have prohibited use of this app on official devices. The Chinese business ByteDance's TikTok, which has raised concerns from governments, may be putting private user information at risk.
On March 1, a House committee supported a move that was even more extreme, voting to forward legislation that would enable President Biden to outlaw TikTok across the board for all devices.

Now what are the advantages and disadvantages for marketing, especially in social media and business owners?
Advantages:
- Increased Focus: By eliminating a major player like TikTok, it allows marketers to focus more energy on platforms that remain such as Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. As these platforms become more crowded with content creators seeking out audiences they can reach quickly, competition may increase but so too should performance across all networks used; making efforts outside of complete reliance on traditional organic content much easier.
- Better Engagement – Social engagement depends heavily upon authenticity & relevancy; two aspects severely lacking when relying solely or predominantly using automated methods (bots). Removing an entire platform full of potential followers missing substance makes them grow organically through providing value instead forcing feed tactics usually seen passed around desperately in favor quantity rather than quality required for longevity in any given industry.
-Shift to other platforms-TikTok's ban would cause users to migrate to other social media sites like Instagram, Snapchat, or Twitter, opening up new chances for advertisers to reach a larger audience.
-Diversification of marketing strategies-If brands weren't able to rely solely on TikTok for marketing, they would be forced to diversify their promotional tactics. This could result in more effective and successful overall strategies.
Disadvantage:
- Opportunity Cost – Not being able to use one popular video sharing app means not having access to billions of users which might have otherwise been reached by advertisements made available at relatively low expense levels compared other competitive multimedia channels due imposed costs high regulations involved production & dispersal campaigns attempting gain traction varieties demographics within respective target markets; thus leading revenue losses associated loss exposure certain locations.
